WE UNDERSTAND/
The creative fields have unique characteristics, which makes working within these fields both challenging and invigorating:
While the business processes can be similar to those of other non-creative professions, the creative processes are the unique points of difference - the creative processes within being an artist, designer, architect, hairdresser etc… are the business.
The complexities of being the creator of ideas and the generator of work - is both challenging, and exhilarating.
The clients themselves, can be complex. A lot of responsibility and pressure falls directly on this workforce - as their clients have committed to investing into something that is ultimately very subjective.
Creativity sits within the inherent and often unexplainable ways unique to each individual.
There are psychological and environmental conditions needed for creative people to successfully move steadily and consciously through work processes and creative developments.
Having clarity around what works and why, can mean having the ability to focus on what’s important, towards developing and maintaining a meaningful career, business, and life.
WHY/
Creative people have positive energy, so when reaching a new situation or challenge, they are looking for effective strategies, or relief to heavy energy concerns.
This workforce is innovative by nature; they are deep thinkers and strategists. When reaching out for support, it helps to have people who can relate and provide a safe, conversational space to help them get back on track with situations that impact their roles.
At times, this workforce simply needs a confidential space for reflection around creativity, directional energy, or to rebuild self-esteem.

ABOUT MICHELLE/
Michelle Rose / Positive Psychology Practitioner
BPsychSc, GradCertPosPsych, GradDipPosPsych CQU
Concrete Olive wellbeing studio was founded by Michelle Rose, who drew on learnings around the highs and lows, and challenges experienced personally, and by those around her, during an extensive career in the building and interior design industry. As an interior creative, she worked alongside architects, craftspeople, artists, other designers, and managed high end residential and commercial projects both locally and internationally.
Her curiosity about human behaviour led her to formal qualifications in Psychological Science and Applied Positive Psychology, gaining extensive experience in wellbeing-focused work. Combining this knowledge with her creative background, she established Concrete Olive - a dedicated, non-clinical space designed to support those working in creative industries.
Michelle has also long been connected to the art world. Growing up with an artist mother, she became deeply involved in supporting original art and artists throughout her career and remains the biggest cheerleader for her daughter, who pursued a career as a professional artist.
Her mission is clear: to strengthen the creative workforce, enhance creative wellbeing, and help creatives navigate the ‘subjective’ challenges that shape both their personal and professional success.
“Maintaining creativity, passion, workflow, life balance, and confidence while staying abreast of change within these industries, takes a lot of self-knowledge, resilience, and stamina.
Concrete Olive is the space I once wished I had access to in my career. For years I’ve supported creatives informally - artists, hairdressers, designers, planners - it was their feedback, gratitude, and recognition of why this space is needed that fuelled my drive to make Concrete Olive a reality - specifically for the powerhouses who quietly undertake enormous challenges with little recognition: the creatives.”
